BLOG ASSIGNMENT #2 -- James B.

1.)Why should ethics be important to journalists?
Because journalist can report HARD NEWS STORY and it’s based on the story if it’s ethics or soft news story. Journalist has to show what happen on that place and to know the story on the community. But they have to know the privacy of the victims or suspects on that story.
2.)What rules of conduct should journalists observe when they report on a story?
They have to sure that his/her story is good for the people or if it’s ethics, they have to confirm it to the people who are on the story that they are reporting about him if it’s ok to the public or not. And also if it’s private for the people, they have to change the name of the victims or the suspects for the privacy of the family.
3.)Should a journalist tell everything he or she knows?
No, because if it’s in a private for the public so they don’t have to say the whole story like the name of the suspects because if the suspects known that the police are hunting him/her, he/ she is going to hide in the other places so it’s important to know of the journalists.
4.)How much should a journalist tell his/her subject about the story that he/she is going to report?
Not the whole story, because it affects the victims or suspects and their relatives and if it’s important or the name of the suspects that they find.
5.)Are there limits as to what should be reported?
Yes, because sometimes there is called private hearing for the suspects and the victims so all the media are not suppose to take a photos or interviewing the victims, suspects or any judges.
6.)What kind of relationship, if any, should exist between a reporter and the subject of a news story?
You have to give advice or you have to listen carefully what she/he said about the story. Because you’re interviewing him/her to the story that happen to understand what his/her feelings so give advice to help and recover to what happens
